They prevent a cotton plug from slipping into the body of the pipet while maintaining proper wall weight to strengthen the pipet and prevent accidental breakage at the top end. Cotton plugs are not supplied. Tips are held to close diameter tolerances and ends are square cut. Designed from ASTM Specification E732, Type I and II requirements.
