Nitric Acid, Double Distilled is a strong, highly corrosive mineral acid. Primarily used as a reagent, the pure compound is colorless and used for nitration, typically to an organic molecule. The Reagent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material. Spectrum Chemical manufactured Reagent grade products meet the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity. The difference between Double Distilled Nitric Acid and ReDistilled Nitric Acid (N1077) is that Double Distilled has a maximum residue after ignition level of 10 PPM versus 100 PPM for the ReDistilled.
