Gallic Acid, Purified, also known as 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid, is a type of phenolic acid that is found in sumac, gallnuts and tea leaves, and is used in the nutritional supplement industry for its antioxidant properties. The Purified Grade describes chemicals of good quality where there are no official standards and is normally limited to inorganic chemicals.
