Formamide, Reagent, ACS is also referred to as methanamide, a clear liquid with an ammonia like odor and is miscible with water. As an amide that is derived from formic acid, it is used as a general chemical feedstock when manufacturing pharmaceuticals, sulfa drugs, herbicides and hydrocyanic acid. It is also used as a solvent for ionic compounds and as a softener in the paper industry. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured FORMAMIDE is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
