Description

Dextran, 500,000, Powder is a complex branched glucan that is synthethized by certain lactic acid bacteria from sucrose. In the laboratory, Dextran is used to apply osmotic pressure to biological molecules and can, when applied with a fluorescent molecule, be used to create concentration gradients of diffusible molecules.
