Trifluoroacetic Anhydride, Reagent is a colorless liquid that is used to protect secondary amine groups and hydroxyl groups respectively under nitrolysis/nitration conditions. The trifluoroacetyl protecting group may be readily removed from the nitrated products by solvolysis under mild conditions. The Reagent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
