Thiourea, Practical is an organosulfur compound that is structurally similar to urea. Used in organic synthesis to reduce peroxides to the corresponding diols, it can also be applied in the reductive workup of ozonolysis to then give carbonyl compounds. The Practical Grade describes chemicals of good quality where there are no official standards and is normally limited to inorganic chemicals.
