Also known as Potassium pyrosulfate, this inorganic salt is a solid and presents as either powder or chunks. It is soluble in water and has severe caustic effects on the eyes, skin and mucous membranes. It is stable, though incompatible with strong acids and strong bases. It is hygroscopic and should be stored in a tightly sealed container.
