Crystalline in form, Potassium Fluoride Anhydrous is a hygroscopoic compound soluble in water and aqueous hydrogen fluoride but insoluble in alcohol. It is involved in the conversion of chlorocarbons to fluorocarbons such as in the Finkelstein reaction. It is toxic and should be stored in a dry, ventilated environment and inside a tightly-closed container. Potassium Fluoride Anhydrous presents as a white solid with a saline taste and is colorless when in a solvent.
