Also known as Thymolsulfonphthalein, this pH indicator compound is soluble in alcohol, dilute alkali, 0.1% ethanol, and 0.1 N sodium hydroxide but insoluble in water. It takes the form of brown to green powder or crystals and should be stored at room temperature. Thymol Blue is stable but incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
