This phosphine derivative, also known as trimethylenebis(diphenylphosphine), presents as a white to almost white crystalline powder. It is known to be soluble in acetone, toluene, and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) and insoluble in water. Store in a cool and dark place at ambient temperatures. 1,3-Bis(diphenylphosphino)propane is incompatible with oxidizing agents and should not be stored or handled in their vicinity. This chemical causes skin irritation along with serious eye irritation.
