This aromatic polyol, also known as L(-)-Epinephrine, presents as a white to very pale yellow crystalline powder. It is known to be very slightly water soluble, slightly soluble in alcohols, and insoluble in ether, acetone and chloroform. Keep container tightly closed and store locked up, under inert gas. Keep refrigerated as this substance is heat-sensitive, light-sensitive and air-sensitive. (R)-1-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-2-methylaminoethanol is incompatible with oxidizing agents. This substance is fatal if swallowed, in contact with skin or if inhaled. It also causes serious eye irritation.
