This chemical substance, also known as Levomenthol, presents as a colorless mint-smelling crystalline. It is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water. Store in tightly closed container in a dry and well-ventilated place at −20°C for best results. (-)-Menthol can cause skin and respiratory irritation as well as serious eye damage. It is toxic of swallowed.
