This N-substituted imidazole, also known as N-Trimethylsilylimidazole, presents as a colorless to almost colorless liquid. Store in an explosion-poof refrigerator, under inert gas. This substance is heat sensitive and moisture sensitive. 1-(Trimethylsilyl)imidazole is incompatible with oxidizing agents and strong acids and should not be kept near them. This highly flammable liquid and vapor causes skin irritation along with serious eye irritation.
