This terpene, also known as 3-Karen, presents as a colorless and sweet-smelling liquid. It is soluble in alcohol, organic solvents and water. Store in a tightly closed container in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright. This substance is air sensitive and should be handled under inert gas, protected from moisture. (+)-3-Carene is flammable and may be fatal if swallowed or enters airways. It also causes skin irritation, may cause allergic skin reaction and is harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
