This dark red to purple crystalline powder is a skin and eye irritant that should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated area at temperatures from 2 – 8 degrees Celsius. It is soluble in cold water and ammonia. It is stable and functions primarily as a staining reagent. Harmful if swallowed.
