This aliphatic polyol, also known as 1,2,6-trihydroxyhexane, presents as a colorless to pale yellow, odorless liquid. It is known to be miscible in acetone and water and soluble in methanol. Store in a cool and dark place, away from any incompatible materials. 1,2,6-Hexanetriol is incompatible with oxidizing agents, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides and reducing agents and should also not be handled near them.
