This reagent, also known as Phenethyl Bromide, presents as a colorless oil. It is known to be soluble in chloroform and ethyl acetate. Store at 2-8° C in a tightly-closed container in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. (2-Bromoethyl)benzene is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. This chemical is harmful if swallowed and causes serious eye irritation.
