Aluminum Silicate is a mixture of that is composed of aluminum, silica, and oxygen. Aluminum silicate can either be a mineral or combined with water to form a clay. These forms are used in many different industries and medicinally. When it is combined with water it creates a clay that is commonly used to treat diaper rash and diarrhea. When aluminum silicate is combined with magnesium and hydrated the resulting clay is used to make antacids and as a thickener for cosmetics and other beauty products.
